Gynecology Oncology

Cancer is a disease in which cells in the body grow out of control. When cancer starts in a woman’s reproductive organs, it is called gynecologic cancer.

The five main types of gynecologic cancer are: cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, and vulvar.

(A sixth type of gynecologic cancer is the very rare fallopian tube cancer.)

Laparascopy

Laparoscopy is a type of surgical procedure that allows a surgeon to access the inside of the abdomen (tummy) and pelvis without having to make large incisions in the skin. This procedure is most commonly used in gynaecology, gastroenterology, and urology.

It is widely used to diagnose many different conditions and investigate certain symptoms such as pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy, and unexplained pelvic or abdominal pain.

Comprehensive Resource Guide: Promoting Sexual Health and Safety in Older Adults

Senior living communities actively encourage socialization and the development of relationships among their residents, leading to the formation of sexual partnerships among older adults.
